So for the last several weeks I have been taking a Money class at a local church to improve our finances. I am so grateful that the people in this community care enough about others, to take their time to teach this class for free, while providing a free dinner, and free childcare for 12 weeks long. Along with this wonderful service, I also have my own personal money coach who is a wonderful caring woman with a new baby who has been so helpful and encouraging and even has the "call me anytime if you get stuck or need anything" rule. For this I am truly grateful to God for answering my prayers in time of need. We have also been blessed by receiving help from a family friend who has been a true accountability partner regarding finances. I recently found this short blog on one of the emails I get from the site "Living On A Dime". This is a wonderful site, with wonderful tips and recipes, and many ways to save money. I just thought this was a good reminder to me! And by the way, last month we decided to cut out our cable due to the ridiculous cost and I have gotten so much more done! It is amazing how much time we will sit in front of the TV and let our precious time pass us by!

If you can read this message, you just received a double blessing in that someone was thinking of you as very special and you are more blessed than over two billion people in the world who cannot read at all.

We are so blessed and we don't know it. Thanks for the insightful thoughts today. Money problems seem to make or break a couple. I hope you guys are doing ok. We've been in several tight spots over the years and it is always hard to go through, but it was there to teach us something every time we went through it.
Our paths need to cross more! I think we are kindred spirits.
I'm very proud of you. You have made a lot of changes these past several months. I know it has not been easy, but look at how far you've come and all of the money you're saving in the process. You can pass all of our knowledge down to me now :-) Congratulations on taking a huge leap for your family!
Hey Kristy, where are you taking the class-is it Dave Ramsey? Tim is taking that now too and he teaches college students on Sundays-it has really opened my eyes to the bad ways I "had" with spending. We are now using pretty much cash only as it is so much more painful to hand over real cash than plastic;-) Anyway, thanks for the bday wishes sweetie!
We are taking the classes at Covenant Presbyterian. It is the New Focus Program.
